    Welcome to Brain Bridges!

At Brain Bridges, we believe the most meaningful progress happens in the environments where children live, play, and grow. By partnering with families in their homes, we create realistic, practical, and individualized interventions that seamlessly fit into daily routines.

Every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and needs. That's why our play-based therapy is thoughtfully tailored to each child, so we can help foster confidence, independence, and meaningful development.

    ABOUT ME

    Meet Your Occupational Therapist

Hi! My name is Andrew Hwang. I’m a pediatric occupational therapist and the founder of Brain Bridges. I earned my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Towson University in 2022 and have spent the past four years working with children of all abilities and developmental needs.

My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, and child-led. I believe therapy should feel engaging, meaningful, and tailored to each child—not like another task they have to complete. My goal is to help children build skills, confidence, and independence while celebrating the unique way they experience and interact with the world.

I also believe parents are an essential part of the therapy process. Through parent coaching, I strive to give families practical strategies they can use in everyday routines—helping parents become their child’s own “little OT” long after our sessions end.

Outside of therapy, I love cooking, baking, exercising, and spending time with my wife and son. I’m excited to bring my passion for pediatric OT and family-centered care to Brain Bridges!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at brainbridgesllc@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

At Brain Bridges, we believe therapy should feel like play, connection, and growth. Our approach is child led, neurodiversity affirming, and built around each child's unique strengths and interests. We provide individualized therapy in the comfort of your home while partnering closely with parents through hands on coaching and practical strategies. Our goal is to build meaningful skills that fit into real life—not just therapy sessions.

Brain Bridges is a private-pay practice. We have chosen this model so we can focus on providing the highest quality, individualized care for your child without the restrictions that can sometimes come with insurance-based services. This allows us to tailor therapy to your child's unique needs, prioritize meaningful goals, and provide care based on what we believe will be most beneficial for your child and family.

We can provide a detailed superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies by insurance plan, so we recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn about your specific out-of-network benefits.

Absolutely! We offer a complimentary 15-minute virtual consultation before your child's evaluation. This is a chance for us to meet, learn a little about your child and your family's needs, answer any questions, and help you feel comfortable before getting started. Our goal is for you and your child to feel welcomed, heard, and confident in choosing Brain Bridges.

Sessions and evaluations are 60 minutes and are play-based, child-led, and tailored to your child's unique needs and goals. We use meaningful activities and everyday routines to support skills such as sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine motor skills, and executive functioning.

Parents are an important part of the process, receiving practical strategies and coaching to support their child between sessions.

Our goal is to build skills that carry beyond therapy and into everyday life.

Brain Bridges provides mobile services throughout Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Prince George's County.
